| Above,
the artist cropped the provided reference image to focus more on the dog.
Notice in the drawing that there is detail in the dog's eye & nose
than in the photo. Shadows are also enhanced in the drawing in order to
provide more contrast. ~~ To the left, our client did not have a reference image for the project. He simply told us what he wanted and the size, which was an xlg 30" x 40" inches. We researched many references, used a combination and the artist, Cher Charest drew in her own interpretation and style. |

This client wanted us to remove the background from the photo so that
it was a cleaner composition which in return focused more on the child.
The little girl is holding an ornament, fingers & faces of children
can be difficult. Too much detail or shading can make them appear older
than normal. |

We
prefer to use high quality pictures or digitals, this was a low res
image. Being a xmas gift we worked with it. Artist had to draw aspects
that couldn't be seen in the photo such as the fingernails and proper
shading. |

Above
is a Four Subject Drawing that was created as a corporate gift for The
Sun City Palm Desert Facility. The manager who ordered the commission
wanted to display the office building yet show the people inside whom
assisted in running the facility. ~~ To the right, the woman in the photo reference had long black hair. To make the drawing better balanced and more airy, the hair was not drawn in completely. |
