As a painting Professor at Novgorod State University in Russia, Alexander continues his ever growing painting series to this day. The foundation for his many creative works are based on the relationship of cultured society and art as it combines. He also transforms his childhood dreams into a magical series titled, "Asia form my Childhood". |

project series explores Alexander's childhood dreams and other memories
from his early years in Asia. "My pictures are my story about the
eastern world and the nostalgia that I have for Eastern culture. It is

My
"Russian Africa" project series are on huge canvases with African motives. The main idea of the project is in its uproarious African temperament. When viewing, the eye of the beholder has to hear rhythm of African drums and feel heat of primitive savannah. This project is a hymn to Neophovism, close in natural primitiveness of Africa to its temperament and naivety. However images known in Russia penetrate in the topic line of these paintings. This is where the conflicting title "Russian Africa" originates from. When exhibiting the project also came visible within an issue of the modern art magazine "New World Of Art". |

In this series, "Art -Topography or
"The Maps of Parallel World" Alexander uses traditional and
modern approaches to create his imagery. At first sight the printed &
transformed graphics are complete abstract compositions. Yet under closest
consideration they are detailed topographic maps of that world, parallel
to a real one. Which in return is called a world of artist by art-critics.
The idea of the project pays attention of onlookers to ecologic problem
of the modern industrial world, a problem which threatens life. Part of
this project was presented at his solo show, "Exhibition Halls of
Russian Cultural Center in Helsinki, 2002". Larger prints are on canvas and can be shipped streched for an additional $100, instead of mailed rolled. The smaller size, 12" x 16" inches, are printed on paper, sent rolled only. |
